Kocher Schirra Goharizi is a full service electrical engineering firm. The present firm is a continuation of the practice originally initiated by John Kocher in 1949. Kocher Schirra Goharizi provides three distinct services. Our design group provides full electrical engineering services from concept design through construction administration for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data and telephone distribution. A large portion of our work has been institutional and industrial facilities. A significant part of this work has been renovation, modernization and upgrade of existing facilities. Additional services provided by this group include master planning, due diligence, system commissioning and startup. Our analytical group performs computer simulation of power systems and power system studies. Typical services include short circuit, load flow, voltage drop and coordination studies. Our forensic group provides expert witness services in legal matters. Our experts have provided electrical related testimony in construction defects, personal injury and fire cases. Approximately 80% of KSG's clients are repeat customers or referrals.

Under Kocher Schirra Goharizi Consulting Engineers we have brought together a very professional and highly experienced team of electrical engineers. This unusually high level of expertise is possible because of our knowledgeable and nationally recognized individuals in the company. The licensed electrical engineers of this firm can offer experience in new design, value engineering, retrofit and replacement of old technologies, sophisticated power system analysis, computer modeling, and field services.
Our technical staff's experience is further illustrated by their involvement with national standards committees. Mr. John Schirra, one of our principals, has presented extension course in power system analysis at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Mr. Neil Nichols is past Chairman of the IEEE Emergency and Standby Power System Subcommittee which authors the IEEE Orange Book for standby and emergency power systems. Mr. Nichols also authored Chapter 1 of the current IEEE Green Book for grounding. Both are past Chairpersons of the IEEE Los Angeles Chapter Industries Application Society.
